Kevin Lohenry, PhD, PA-C, DFAAPA, is the Interim Dean of the College of Health Sciences, as well as an assistant vice president for interprofessional education at the University of Arizona Health Sciences and a clinical professor of medicine at the UArizona College of Medicine – Tucson.
Dr. Lohenry has served as a physician assistant since 1996, practicing family and internal medicine. He has been a champion for medically underserved communities in multiple capacities, including working as a physician assistant in a clinic serving people who are chronically homeless and co-developing a street medicine program at the University of Southern California to provide primary care for individuals on the streets of Los Angeles County.
In 2022, Dr. Lohenry joined the University of Arizona Health Sciences after serving as the associate dean for graduate student affairs at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine. At USC, he served as the COVID project manager for the Dean and from 2011 to 2022 was the program director for the Primary Care Physician Assistant Program, a program ranked in the top 10 by U.S. News & World Report. He also served as the vice-chair for education in the Department of Family Medicine from 2018 to 2020.
A veteran of the United States Navy, Dr. Lohenry served in the first Gulf war flying combat search and rescue missions. From 2011 to 2012, Kevin served as a member of the Joining Forces Initiative with the Office of the First Lady.
